Brief History

The Egyptian representation in the Slovak Republic is headed by an Ambassador as of 2007. The current Ambassador, H.E. Mr. Amr Elhenawy presented his credentials to the Slovak president in November 2014.

Egypt recognized the Slovak Republic in 1/1/1993, a step that was followed by the establishing of a Slovak mission in Cairo, headed by an Ambassador as of 2002.

A protocol of cooperation and consultation was signed between the two countries foreign ministries in 1994, the first bilateral round of consultations was held in Bratislava in 1996, and the last was held in Cairo 2005.
