Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bratislava
Egypt was one of the first countries to open a diplomatic mission in Bratislava in 1994, following Slovakia's independence from the Czechoslovak Republic on 1.1.1993.
The Egyptian Embassy in the Slovak Republic is headed by an Ambassador as of 2007. The current Ambassador is H.E. Mr. Bassem Khalil, who started his post in Bratislava on 14.12.2018.
Egypt recognized the Slovak Republic in 1/1/1993 as soon as it was declared, a step that was followed by the establishment of a Slovak mission in Cairo, headed by an Ambassador as of 2002.
A protocol of cooperation and consultation was signed between the two countries foreign ministries in 1994, the first bilateral round of consultations was held in Bratislava in 1996, and the last was held in Cairo in September of 2018.

Since 1 June 2016, our embassy has changed its seat and address to Panská 14 in the historic center of the Old Town of Bratislava. Opening hours, consular service hours, telephone lines and e-mails have remained the same.
We have the honor to inform you that the law of the Arab Republic of Egypt prohibits the use of any unmanned flying object, any object that can fly using any kind of technology and of any form or size, and which can be loaded with additional loads, including devices, equipment, weapon systems, ammunition, Which poses a threat to the national security of the country and is operated or controlled remotely.
The law also stipulates that it is prohibited to import, manufacture, assemble, trade, possess, trade or use wireless motorized aircraft without obtaining a permit from the competent authority, with consideration to the provisions of the Civil Aviation Law promulgated by Law No. 38 of 1981.
We would like to inform all our visitors that the situation in the Egyptian tourist destinations and resorts, as well as the Egyptian capital "Cairo" and major Egyptian cities, are safe and secure, the local security forces are ensuring security and safety all over Egypt.
Air Travel Information
Air Cairo Airlines is operating one direct flight from Bratislava to Hurghada during the winter season 2018/2019. Air Cairo will also operate two direct flights from Bratislava to (Hurghada and Marsa/Alam) starting 31.03.2019. For fast and secure booking of airline tickets: Bratislava@aircairo.sk
Egypt Air is also operating 5 direct flights weekly from Vienna to Cairo.
Hurghada is the most famous and most popular tourist resort on the Red Sea coast. Marsa Alam has become a new top destination for diving enthusiasts in the Red Sea. Sharm El Sheikh in close proximity to Ras Mohamed Reservation offers an unrepeatable underwater life.
