Brief History 

Egypt was one of the first countries to open a diplomatic mission in Bratislava in 1994, following Slovakia's independence from the Czechoslovak Republic on 1.1.1993.

The Egyptian Embassy in the Slovak Republic is headed by an Ambassador as of 2007. The last Ambassador was H.E. Mr. Bassem Khalil, who started his post in Bratislava on 14.12.2018. Mrs.Nada Kiwan took the post of Chargé d'Affaires since December 2022 to date.

 

Egypt recognized the Slovak Republic in 1/1/1993 as soon as it was declared, a step that was followed by the establishment of a Slovak mission in Cairo, headed by an Ambassador as of 2002.

 

A protocol of cooperation and consultation was signed between the two countries foreign ministries in 1994, the first bilateral round of consultations was held in Bratislava in 1996, and the last was held in Cairo in September of 2018.

The Egyptian Embassy in Slovakia points out to the fact that  there are  EgyptAir flights taking off from Vienna airport only on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Tuesdays of every week, and it is possible for travelers to book travel tickets online or through the EgyptAir office at Vienna airport directly or one of EgyptAir offices in all governorates of Egypt .

Announcement

The Embassy of the Arab Republic Of Egypt in Bratislava has the honor to convey  the latest counter-pandemic regulations adopted by the Ministry of health of the Arab Republic of Egypt for entry of any travellers to Egypt wether by Air, land or sea, as follows:
  • The arriving traveller must be vaccinated with any of the vaccines approved by the World Health Organization or from the Egyptian Drug Authority and 14 days must have passed since the receiving the second dose for double-dose vaccines, or 14 days must have passed since the receiving the dose for single-dose vaccines before arriving to Egypt.
OR
  • The arriving traveller must hold a negative CoVid-19 test result from the tests which are approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Housing (PCR-Antigen Rapid Test-ID NOW) not older than 72 hours, such that children under 12 years of age are exempted from this regulation.
  • Halting the use and acceptance of ID NOW  CoVid-19 test for travellers arriving to Egypt from the Republic of South Africa, Botswana, Mozambique, Namibia, Lesotho, Zimbabwe and Eswatini.
  • In the event of a non-conformity of the information in the CoVid-19 vaccination &/or test certificates presented by the arriving traveller with the required data, a CoVid-19 Antigen Rapid Test  will be carried out  for the arriving travellers, in the event that the test result is positive the following applies:
      - For Egyptian Nationals the situation is evaluated and if there arent any symptoms or light symptoms they will attain to a home-quarantine for the period of ten (10) days, or in case of serios symptoms they will be transferred to a hospital.
- For non-Egyptian Nationals a Laboratory examination using ID NOW  CoVid-19 test will be conducted, and in the event that the test result is positive the traveller will be returned to the country from which he departed via the carrier company.
·      For travellers arriving to tourist Airports (Sharm El Sheikh, Taba, Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Luxor and Aswan) the traveller must hold a CoVid-19 vaccination certificate according to the requirements in place in this matter, or  hold a negative CoVid-19 test result for any of the tests approved by the Egyptian Ministry of Health and Housing according to the requirements in place in this matter, and in the event of a non-conformity of the information in the CoVid-19 vaccination &/or test certificates presented by the arriving traveller with the required data, a CoVid-19 Antigen Rapid Test  will be carried out for Corona Virus detection. And in the event of  a positive result, they will be allowed to self-quarantine in their Hotel for the period of five (5) days and with a negative PCR test result conducted on the 6th day if there are no symptoms of the disease and if the test result is negative then the quarantine may be ended, and if the test result is positive then the self-quarantine will resume  for another five (5) days and then the quarantine is ended without the need for conducting an additional test.
                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                

 

 

Announcement

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bratislava presents its compliments, and in light of the numerous inquiries received via social media and the Embassy’s official emails, regarding the acceptable forms of PCR test results upon entry to Egypt- the Embassy reiterates the following acceptable forms of PCR test results:

 

 11- A stamped PCR test result issued by the lab; test results must not contain any cross-outs, alterations or damage.

 

OR

 

 

2 2- PCR test results that have a QR Code instead of the lab seal, and these certificates are accepted after verifying the authority issuing the certificate .

 

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bratislava informs that vaccination certificates containing a QR code and not manipulated in persons who have been vaccinated in the last 14 days prior to their arrival in Egypt with all vaccines approved by the World Health Organization (Pfizer - AstraZeneca - Moderna - Sinopharm - Sinovac - Sputnik) are accepted and their holders are exempted from the obligation to provide the results of PCR tests and quarantine  

 

                            The Embassy avails itself of this opportunity to reiterate the assurances of its highest esteem and consideration.

  

NOTICE

1- The consular section will reopen as of Monday, the 22nd of February. It will be open only on Mondays and Wednesdays until further notice.

2- Visitors should call the consular section at (00421252961474 ) before coming to the Embassy, to verify opening hours. 

3- Documents will be received and delivered through the door, without admittance to the consulate.

4- A negative antigen test not older than 24 hours or an official document indicating a previous covid-19 infection will be required to deliver or receive any documents through the door.

5- Urgent documents can be delivered between 10:00 - 12:00. Delivery could be the same day between 14:00 - 15:00, if the situation permits.

The law also stipulates that it is prohibited to import, manufacture, assemble, trade, possess, trade or use wireless motorized aircraft without obtaining a permit from the competent authority, with consideration to the provisions of the Civil Aviation Law promulgated by Law No. 38 of 1981.

Air Travel Information 

  • The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bratislava presents its compliments and is honored to announce that the period of exemption of fees for issuing tourist visas to Egypt has been extended for travelers to the governorates of South Sinai, the Red Sea, Luxor and Aswan until April 30th, 2021.

  • The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bratislava informs that from 1 September 2020, the condition for entry into Egypt for all passengers arriving in the country, including those passengers traveling directly to  Sharm el-Sheikh, Hurghada, Marsa Matrouh and Marsa Alam is the obligation to submit a negative PCR test, which is not older than 72 hours. A negative PCR test is not required from children under 6 years of age.

  • The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bratislava informs that making the PCR test is alos available at the airports in Hurghada, Marsa Alam, Sharm El-Sheikh & Taba. Accordingly, starting the 1st of September 2020, tourist who were not able to make the PCR test 72 hours prior to their departure, can alternatively make the test at the above mentioned irports for 30$.

  • The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bratislava informs about the prolongation of the exemption of tourist visa fees for those travelling to South Sinai, Red Sea, Luxor and Aswan untill the 30th of April 2021.

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt presents its best regards and has the honor to inform that the Egyptian authorities have decided, as of 1/6/2020, that pets coming from abroad with travelers should be accompanied by a veterinary health certificate issued by the state authorities from the country they are traveling from stating that they are free of CoVid19 disease.

 

The Embassy of the Arab Republic of Egypt in Bratislava presents its compliments and has the honor to inform that transiting passengers travelling to a third country through one of the Egyptian airports are exempted from providing a PCR test, unless they want to exit the airport and enter the Egyptian territories.

 

Air Cairo Airlines is operating one direct flight from Bratislava to Hurghada during the winter season 2018/2019.
